I think I was fully awake. I was lying on my bed and had my eyes shut for a few seconds. I noticed a rapid movement of my tongue and heard a faint racheting sound just above my tongue. I saw rapid flickering of narrow horizontal black and white stripes that turned diagonal and turned off like a television screen. Then a few milliseconds of absolute darkness and no movement. I then suddenly opened my eyes without moving other parts of my body and was staring blankly in front of me wondering what had happened to me.
